K-12 Outreach

About the Committee

The purpose of the SESB K-12 Outreach Committee is to spread enthusiasm for STEM studies throughout K-12 students in the Minneapolis area. As a part of the K-12 Outreach Committee, members will have opportunities to develop and lead these students in hands-on activities and offer a window into the exciting world of STEM.

STEM Field Trip

SESB just hosted its very first on-campus field trip! The Student Outreach and K-12 Outreach Committees collaborated to host an engaging STEM-based field trip for local high school students. Ninth and tenth-grade students from Camden High School enjoyed tours and hands-on activities with the Minnesota Robotics Institute and the BME Experimental Surgery Lab. Our goal was to create opportunities for students in STEM and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers!

Middle School STEM Lessons

The K-12 Outreach Committee is planning and leading unique STEM lessons for local middle school students. This is an ongoing initiative that welcomes new members to join and contribute. If you are interested in leading your own STEM lesson, this is a great opportunity to inspire young minds and share your passion for STEM!
